Providing learners with the skills and knowledge to deal with first aid situations in high risk work environments and in outdoor and activity based environments.
Who should attend?
This course is ideal for anyone who has a responsibility to provide First Aid in an outdoor or activity based environment. Successful candidates will gain the knowledge and skills needed to treat a range of conditions that could occur during any form of activity, from life threatening illnesses to minor injuries.
The QA Level 2 Award in Activity First Aid (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those who have a responsibility to provide first aid in outdoor and activity based environments. Certificates are valid for 3 years

What we cover on this First Aid course
Roles and responsibilities of a first aider
Assessing an incident
Managing an unresponsive casualty
CPR and AED use
Head, neck and back injuries
Chest and abdominal injuries
Fractures and external bleeding
Burns and scalds
Epilepsy and seizures
Treatment for hot and cold temperatures
Sprains, strains and dislocations
No previous First Aid knowledge is required to attend this course. Due to the course content learners should be able to deal with stressful situations. If this course is delivered in-house the organisation are responsible for assessing the suitability of learners to carry out this role.
Assessment will be practical via observations carried out by the course trainer and written multiple choice assessment papers.
